To be superior in intellect and personality, capable of competing, globally and environmentally oriented, and possessing noble character rooted in faith and piety.

vision

The mission of SMA Negeri 4 Kendari is to cultivate academically excellent, globally competitive graduates by embedding strong spiritual values, noble character, and the "6S" cultural practices (Senyum, Salam, Sapa, Sopan, Santun, Silaturahmi) into daily student life; this academic rigor is backed by certified professional educators who prepare students for elite university admissions, while the "6S" culture directly mitigates bullying and builds a unified, respectful campus community. As an established Adiwiyata school, it actively integrates environmental care and sustainability into its curriculum through specialized ecoliteracy modules, student-led waste reduction programs, and green space management, while leveraging modern digital technology such as electronic learning management systems, smart classrooms, and cloud-based student tracking to optimize innovative learning and institutional transparency.

SMAN 4  SUPPORT SYSTEM

Unggul dalam Prestasi, Mulia dalam Budi Pekerti

(Excel in Achievement, Noble in Character).

The SMAN 4 Kendari primarily uses the 2013 curriculum, functioning as a model school for this framework with a focus on student-centered learning and moral character development. The teaching system integrates environmental care (Adiwiyata program) and employs diverse, active learning methods, including 5E-Direct Instruction, cooperative learning (NHT, TPS), and technology-based media.

Key components of the teaching system at SMAN 4 Kendari include:

💻 1. Modern Digital Learning

The school utilizes the national Kurikulum Merdeka framework to move away from rigid, passive lecturing. Teachers combine gamified digital tools with a flipped classroom model, meaning students review foundational concepts at home so real-time class hours can be used entirely for active debates, collaborative writing, and team projects.

🌱 2. Certified Green Campus

Holding a national Adiwiyata School certification since 2013, SMAN 4 Kendari does not treat eco-education as an isolated elective. Instead, environmental preservation, climate impact awareness, and sustainability themes are woven directly into everyday subject areas like general science, social studies, and ethics.

🛡️ 3. Character Building

Driven by the core IMTAQ (Faith and Piety) initiative, education here places equal weight on academic mastery and moral growth. The evaluation system actively tracks applied ethics, grading students on practical daily discipline, empathy, social responsibility, and their interactions within the community.

🔬 4. Hands-on Experience

Academic theory is directly reinforced through mandatory laboratory modules and active student-led field organizations. A prime example is the school’s prominent Eucalyptus Nature Society, which takes learning past campus borders by planning and executing real-world community conservation and environmental cleanup projects.

SMAN 4 Kendari maintains a highly competitive, prestigious institutional culture built on academic excellence, structured civic discipline, and environmental responsibility. Operating under the motto "Cerdas, Unggul Berkarakter dan Go Internasional" ("Smart, Excellent Character, and Go International"), the student body is deeply driven by academic competitiveness, routinely winning regional Olympiads and feeding top Indonesian universities. Daily social interactions are strictly anchored in the 6-S value system: Senyum (Smile), Sapa (Greet), Salam (Salute), Sopan (Polite), Santun (Courteous), and Sabar (Patient) to ensure deep mutual respect.
